Reunion Weekend is HERE!!

This information will also be sent out through email tomorrow... We can't wait to see everyone there!!!
Friday, September 16th- Social Mixer at Betos 
(2530 W. Interstate 20, Grand Prairie, TX 75052)
Event starts at 10PM. This event is FREE to attend. There will be chips and salsa with a cash bar. Plus, we will have a DJ!! This is a great opportunity for everyone to reconnect before the BIG party on Saturday night.
Dress Attire: Casual


**If you decide on Friday night you would like to purchase tickets for Saturday night's event, be sure to see a committee member for a voucher, good for 1 $60 ticket. Tickets will be $75 at the door, unless you have the voucher. Please note... only CASH will be accepted at the door Saturday night.


Saturday, September 17th- Reunion Party at Iron Cactus 
(1520 Main Street, Dallas, TX 75201)
Event starts at 8PM. Join us for the main event for our reunion weekend at the Iron Cactus- Mexican Grill & Margarita Bar. We have the second floor reserved just for us!!
Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served. On the menu we have: chips and salsa, guacamole, beef fajita quesadillas, chicken poppers, shrimp cocktails and spinach and artichoke flautas. Soft drink, coffee, ice tea and water are included. There will be a cash bar. And of course, we will have a DJ providing music all night long. We hope to see EVERYONE out on the dance floor.

Please remember… there will NOT be actual tickets issued. Your name will be at the registration table when you check in. Once you enter the Iron Cactus you will want to head up to the 2nd floor where our party room is reserved. Check in at the registration table upstairs.

Parking at Iron Cactus
There are a couple of nearby parking garages that will cost between $2-5. Valet parking at the restaurant is also an option. It will cost $10.

It is the black garage with a “Davis Building” green sign by the entrance. Park and take the elevator to the first level (street level) and walk over to Iron Cactus. When you exit the building, go towards CVS and make a right on Akard St and a left on Main. The Iron Cactus will be on the left side of the street.

This garage is at the corner of Main and Akard, right next to CVS. When you exit the garage you will be on Main Street. The Iron Cactus will be across the street to the left.

Last Day for Tickets!!

Happy Sunday!! Don't forget...

Today is the LAST day to purchase your reunion tickets at $50/person and $95/couple. Purchase your tickets TODAY by using THIS link

Prices will increase to $60/person and $115/couple tomorrow and will be on sale until September 9th. Of course you can always purchase your ticket at the door the evening of the reunion, but it will be $75/person, cash only. For those attending the Friday night mixer at Beto's... if you decide last minute you would like to attend the Saturday night event too, the reunion committee will have discount vouchers available. Stay tuned for more information.

Remember... tickets will not be printed or mailed to you. We will have a list at the door, so you'll just need to check in when you arrive.

More detailed information about the reunion weekend will be sent through email the Monday before the big day. Thank to those who have already purchased your tickets. We are looking forward to seeing you all!!

Tickets


SGP Class of 2001...
Don't forget to purchase your ticket(s) for the reunion on September 17th. It'll be here before we know it and prices will continue to increase. The sooner you buy your ticket, the better! Current ticket prices are set at $50/person and $95/couple. These prices will increase on Monday, August 1st.

Remember, paper tickets will not be mailed. On the night of the reunion you simply need to just show up. We will have a list at the door. Use THIS link to purchase your tickets today!!

You may choose to purchase your ticket at the door the night of the event, but we will only accept cash and tickets will be $75/person. Discount ticket vouchers will also be handed out at Beto's on Friday night should you decide you want to attend the event on Saturday at the Iron Cactus as well. Stay tuned for more details.

Reunion Details

We've had many people ask some questions about the details of our reunion. Hopefully this will help clear things up:

Betos (September 16th- 10PM)
  • This event is FREE!!
  • Appetizers will be provided
  • Cash bar for those interested
  • Dress is casual
Iron Cactus (September 17th- 8PM)
  • You will need to purchase tickets to attend this event. You can use THIS link to purchase your tickets. Remember... the sooner you buy your tickets the better price you will get!!!

September Meeting

The reunion committee met this morning. Our main focus was getting in touch with alumni. Currently the Class of 2001 has a Facebook page and a blog. We have also set up an email address that will be used to make contact with each of you during reunion registration. Please be sure to email sgpclass01@gmail.com with your best contact info. It is very important to each of us that we make this reunion something everyone will always remember. And, we truly want a HUGE turn out. If you know people who graduated in 2001, but they do not have a Facebook and have no idea about our blog... please pass the word on to them!!! We need everyone's help during the early stages of planning.

The venue has not been decided... in fact that is our next step. Over the next couple of months we will be making contact with various places. Our hope is for the reunion to be one of the biggest, best, and most exciting parties you have ever been to. As we work towards picking our venue we will have that in mind. Believe me when I say... you will not want to miss out!!!

As for now... that is all we have to share. We hope to begin giving more detailed information in the next 6 months. By March we will reveal the venue location, date/time (Sept/Oct 2011), and begin early bird ticket sales. Again, all that information will be posted on the blog, Facebook, and sent through email.

And so it begins...

Hello SGP Class of 2001! We hope this blog finds you well!! It is hard to believe we are already beginning to think about our TEN YEAR reunion. How quickly time seems to fly as we get older. It is our hope that we can use this blog as a communication tool for all things reunion related. Please pass the blog information on to any/all alumni you keep in contact with. We have also started a Facebook group. Currently we have 188 members, but that is no where close to the number of people in our graduating class. Again, if you know of alumni missing from that group, please encourage them to join.

On February 7th the reunion committee met to begin initial plans. Committe members for the 2011 reunion are:

Discussions for the reunion were informal and included ideas on how to begin contacting all alumni. Right now we're planning for something in September or October 2011, around the Homecoming game. We hope to wait for the 2011 football schedule before officially picking a date.

Finally, we have set up an e-mail address- sgpclass01@gmail.com. Please submit your contact information to the address. We would like your name (married and maiden), email address, best contact number, and if you (and a guest) will be attending the reunion. Feel free to submit old high school pictures as well. We'd like to put together some sort of slideshow for the reunion.
